Meaghan & Juan :: Cibolo Nature Engagement and Family Portraits :: Boerne, Texas

...HERE IS THEIR STORY (as told by Meaghan)...

"Our love story is a little off beat but I love it even more so, because I know without a doubt that we are meant to be. Juan and I met our sophomore year of high school in a welding class. A friendship quickly grew; we both felt a deeper connection, however, at the time I was in a 'way too serious for high school' kind of relationship with someone else so we just ignored how we felt, or I tried to anyway. Juan always had something cute up his sleeve that tugged at my heart. Fast forward to the end of our junior year.  I was blessed with my beautiful daughter Sadie. Things in my other relationship had changed and by the time Sadie was approaching her first birthday, Juan and I started to reconnect. However, I was not ready to be in another relationship so we went our separate ways.

We continued to check in on each other from time to time over the years. I always felt like he was the one that got away. We’d mention getting together for a drink to catch up but never followed through until one lovely Thursday evening in March 2012. It might sound cheesy but I could see our love story being written; I knew from that moment we were meant to be and here we are. More than three years later happily engaged and looking forward to happily ever after. Juan couldn’t have proposed in a more beautiful way! He put together an amazing weekend at a one of a kind place across the street from Enchanted Rock. Little did I know, our families were at home putting together a surprise engagement party. When we got back to San Antonio I thought we were heading to his sister’s to help her move furniture. I walked into her place to find everyone I love screaming 'SURPRISE!' and my daughter ran and jumped into my arms. At that point, I could no longer hold back the tears of joy!"

They were meant to be.  How beautiful!  Well these guys were a joy to photograph. We spent the sunny summer evening walking, talking, and posing for their dual engagement and family session out in Boerne, Texas.  What made it all the more fun was their company.  Meaghan's daughter Sadie really came out of her shell the more we walked and talked.  By the time we got to Meaghan's spectacular idea of using powdered paint, everyone was psyched! So we're gonna start these photos from the end of their session.  Now don't worry, all the paint was made at home using two ingredients approved by the Nature Center themselves and not at all harmful to woodland creatures.  So let's get to it!  As always, enjoy...
